Things To Be Grateful For

In the hustle and bustle of life, it is not uncommon to get lost amidst the confusion and chaos. Sometimes, we forget to pause, take a deep breath, and truly appreciate the little things. The only way to truly find inner contentment is to acknowledge the beauty in our surroundings. 

Every moment deserves to be cherished. So, let’s take a few minutes to remember some precious things that we should not take for granted. After all we all want to feel happy, right?

Lets start with health. Having a properly-functioning, fully-abled body and mind is one of the blessings we forget about the most. Even if your health could be better, it’s smart to think of the ways it ‘could’ have been worse and feel grateful for what you do have.

Now, if you’re reading this, lying down or sitting somewhere comfortable and cozy, with access to food, drinks, and other necessities- know that you’re practically living a life of ease and luxury. Having a warm bed to sleep in, a filled fridge, an education- are all worth being happy about. 

Good family and friends are one of the best parts of life. These are ‘your’ people. The ones who value you, care for you and want to see you happy and successful. They are the reason for your crazy laughter, the twinkle in your eye, and the warmth in your heart. Whether it’s your partner, your mum, dad, best friend (or all of them), know that you’re truly blessed to have incredible people in your life.

And how can we forget, food and the senses to fully indulge in it! Next time you’re enjoying your favourite meal, take a deep dive into the explosion of flavors in your mouth. Savor those moments of having delicious food and being able to appreciate it.

When you step outside your house, even for a walk, embrace the nature around you. The green leaves, trees, and branches, the chirping birds or buzzing insects, the wet soil, blue waters and the endless natural phenonemas. Think of how mother nature makes our world alive and beautiful. Take a deep breath of fresh air, and truly feel it; Instant gratitude guaranteed!

Appreciate the books and movies that teach you knowledge, wisdom, and expand your horizon and broaden your perspectives. These are essential parts of our growth.

Finally, the best mantra to live life is to be grateful for everything- the good and the bad. If you promise yourself to find the silver lining in everything, you’ll find something to be grateful in every situation. Rather than feeling unhappy- be grateful for the mistakes that taught you a lesson, the heartbreaks that made you stronger, and the challenges that help you grow.

This world is a beautiful and magical place. Just look around yourself and truly see the wonder all around you. Even the fact that you simply exist is a source of gratitude. Once you start living life with this approach, you will feel blessed every moment.
